Embark on a journey through the Book of Romans with Tom Stapleton in this first session of a comprehensive study. In this first chapter, Tom weaves together scriptural insights with contemporary reflections:

• The Role of the Holy Spirit: Tom draws parallels between the promises of Ezekiel 36:26-27, where God speaks of giving His people a new heart and putting His Spirit within them, to understand how the Holy Spirit empowers believers in Romans.

• Commands for Obedience: By referencing Deuteronomy 4:1-40, Tom discusses the importance of obedience to God’s laws as a foundational aspect of Jewish and Christian life.

• Confirmation of Our Calling: Utilizing 2 Peter 1:3-11, Tom considers the divine assurances and the personal responsibilities that come with the Christian calling. This ties into Paul’s discussion on the righteousness of faith in Romans.

• From Lottery Tickets to Darwinism: Tom uses these modern examples to explain human behavior and morality, contrasting these with the eternal truths and divine order presented in Romans.

• Historical Parallels with Roman and Modern Politics: Tom takes an intriguing detour into Roman history, suggesting that the political maneuvers and moral declines of ancient Rome have eerie similarities to the actions of modern Democrats. This comparison serves not just as a critique but as a call to reflection on how current political actions might be echoing past mistakes.

Join Tom Stapleton on an enlightening journey required before continuing the study of Romans 2, where he explores a pivotal theological concept: that there are two distinct divine judgments that will determine the fate of every human. Romans 2 cannot be correctly understood without being able to distinguish between these two distinct judgments.

First, Tom explores the judgment before the Second Coming, as depicted in Daniel 7:9-10, where the decision on who will be saved is made. This preliminary judgment sets the stage for eternal salvation. Following this, we address the Great White Throne judgment from Revelation 20:12-14, where the fate of the unsaved is conclusively determined, leading to their consignment to the lake of fire.

Tom will guide you through these scriptural references, offering insights that will help clarify Paul’s teachings that we will soon study in Romans 2. This session is not just about theology; it’s about understanding the profound implications of these judgments on every individual’s spiritual journey.

Recorded February 1, 2025. In today’s deep-searching session, Tom Stapleton delves into a pivotal biblical narrative where divine promises meet human rejection. This teaching explores the profound implications of Israel’s rejection of the Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). Prepare to engage with scripture in a way that might challenge your preconceptions and deepen your grasp of the Messianic message in light of Israel’s historical and prophetic role. Tom begins with several key scriptures from Daniel, Ezekiel, Zechariah, and Malachi. From there, he examines critical moments in Matthew 21, including the cleansing of the Temple, the cursing of the fig tree, and the parable of the vineyard. These prophecies and experiences give keys to understand why Yeshua lamented over Jerusalem – after, as John 1:11 says, “He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him”. What was the consequence of Israel’s rejection of Yeshua? How does the Messiah’s rejection of the bloodline of Israel shape the theological landscape for Jews, Christians, and Messianic believers today? How does all of this relate to a third temple in Jerusalem?

In this teaching, Tom Stapleton examines the pivotal theme of judgment within God’s people. Beginning with the judgment against Jerusalem for rejecting the Messiah, Tom explains how the temple’s destruction symbolized God’s warning to His people. Many today believe a new temple must be rebuilt in Jerusalem, but Israel remains on a path of error, still rejecting Yeshua.

The gospel was taken to the Gentiles, but over time, it was diluted—changing God’s appointed Sabbath to Sunday and replacing His festivals with man-made traditions. Yet, the purpose of the gospel remains clear: to transform lives. God shows no partiality—lawkeeping cannot save us, but we are judged and rewarded according to our deeds.

In the final 15 minutes, Tom makes a little deviation to discuss some current events and how they fit with prophecy. God’s plan is unfolding in real time. Are you ready for our judgment that is coming

Many people have lost sight of the fact that every human being alive today will face the judgment of God. Tom Stapleton examines the certainty of God’s judgment, drawing from biblical history and prophecy. From the judgments at the time of the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, Egypt, and even the angels who left their first estate, the Bible makes it clear that judgment is coming. Romans 2:14-16, Romans 3:20, 2 Peter 2, and Jude 1 reveal the truth about prior judgments and false doctrines. But how can we discern if we are following God’s spirit or being led astray by the spirit of the antichrist? Tom provides a simple test to help you know whether or not a doctrine or message you hear is from God, or from the enemy. Are you listening to the right voice? Join us as we uncover the biblical evidence of God’s coming judgment and how to stand firm in truth.

What does Paul mean when he says the law does not save us, yet still upholds the importance of obedience? In Romans 2:12-16, Paul clarifies that while salvation is by faith, God’s moral standard remains. Even Gentiles who do not know the Torah can be judged righteously if they follow God’s law written on their hearts. What is meant by being a Jew inwardly compared to being a Jew outwardly? In this in-depth Bible study on Romans 2, Tom Stapleton unpacks this critical passage, revealing how God’s judgment is based on our actions and the knowledge we have. He explains how Paul’s teachings on law and grace do not contradict but rather confirm that obedience to God is still required.

Many struggle with Paul’s writings, assuming they abolish God’s law—but nothing could be further from the truth! In this deep dive into Romans 2:17–3:3, Tom Stapleton unpacks Paul’s teaching on the Jewish advantage, the role of circumcision, and what it truly means to be circumcised in heart.

Paul shows that having God’s law is a privilege, yet obedience is what truly matters. How does this apply to Gentiles who follow the law by nature? What profit is circumcision if the heart remains unchanged? This study reveals how Paul’s words establish the law, rather than abolish it.

Recorded March 8, 2025 Before the Second Coming, there is a divine judgment — not just of humanity, but of God Himself. See Romans 3:1-6 and Daniel 7:9-10, 13. This judgment determines whether Yeshua is worthy to redeem those who claim His blood. This judgment decides who will be in the first resurrection (Revelation 20:6) and who will meet Yeshua in the clouds at His return (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Only if He is judged worthy as our Redeemer will those in Him be found fit to enter the 1000-year reign with Him in heaven. This judgment stands in contrast to the final judgment of the wicked after the 1000 years (Revelation 20:5, 11-15), when the condemned will face eternal destruction.

How are we saved—by keeping the law, by faith alone, or a combination of both? In this teaching, Tom Stapleton unpacks Romans 3:9-31, where Paul explains that both Jews and Gentiles are saved the same way—by the blood of Yeshua. But does this do away with the law? Are we “once saved, always saved”? Paul clarifies the role of the law, grace, faith, and Yeshua’s sacrifice in both justification (our legal standing before God) and sanctification (the ongoing process of being transformed into Yeshua’s likeness). Does the law still matter? What does it mean to be justified by faith? How do we walk in obedience without falling into legalism?

Recorded March 22, 2025 Is God the God of Israel only, or also of the Gentiles? In this eye-opening teaching, Tom Stapleton unpacks Romans 3:29–31 alongside Acts 15, revealing the critical moment when the two sticks reunification prophecy was to be fulfilled. Many today misread post-captivity prophecies—Amos 9, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel 9—as pointing to the Second Coming, when they were actually written for the First Coming. The challenge is that many Christians and Messianics today believe that the temple still needs to be rebuilt, and the scattered tribes of Israel still need to be reunited. They miss the fact that the opportunity for those events came and went, and God achieved His purpose through the twelve disciples (not the tribes) as the message was taken to the Gentiles.
